FITNESS MINUTE WITH JOHNNY BRAVO

This week on your Health and Fitness Sports Magazine fitness minute with Johnny Bravo, on ESPN 97.5 we are discussing Frequency of Working Out.

Frequency of working out is measured as the number of training sessions for a given muscle group. Working out with frequency, I think is better than sporadic workouts. However you should take rest days to rest your entire body but always take rest days for complete muscle groups. Rest is crucial and will allow for your muscle groups to heal and rebuild. Muscles require about 24-48 hours of rest for repair.

Here are other things to consider about your frequency of work out:

Split Training is working out 3 to 5 days a week to train each muscle group.

Double Split Training is training twice on some days. This for the high intensity peeps.

If your goal is to lose weight then alternate your weight training and aerobic workouts for a better result.

Possible training routine for you:

Monday - chest and triceps
Tuesday- legs
Wednesday-back and biceps
Thursday -shoulders and traps
Friday - forearms, calves and abs.
Saturday and Sunday - Complete Rest.
